Mili Gorge

It starts off Chromonastiri and ends in Nio village. The name was given after the water mills that existed in the past all along the gorge and were used to grind the wheat of the nearby villages. Water springs, low waterfalls and ponds appear under the plain trees along the trek.

Only 7km away from Rethymnon on the left hand side of the main road to Chromonastiri. It hosts some of the rare species on the Cretan flora. The two hour walk compensates the trekkers. Interesting enough is the large number of churches in the vicinity.
