A double acropolis adorns the site; the remains of a prytaneion, a cistern, a temple, and a theater are easily identified. The port city of Lato was Kamara, located near modern Aghios Nikolaos.
The hike of (long version 10 kms; short version 5-7 kms) is quite spectacular. The gorge runs in a circle: its narrowest part is only 90 centimeters wide. Turkish kalderimi trails point the way.
