Stavros Stavroulakis
My name is Stavros and I was born and raised in Chania, one of the most picturesque cities in Greece. My country, including the island of Crete, is known to the whole world as the place of the gods and heroes, but also as the place where the preaching of the Gospel by Paul was welcomed. As a result we have countless martyrs and saints from the early Christian period until now.
“God works in mysterious ways” people usually say when I talk about my life. When I was a child I accidentally opened the door of the local archaeological museum and decided to become an archaeologist, but instead it was eventually theology I studied. Later my love for Greece led me to the decision to work as a diplomat but again, by accident, I attended the school of tourist guides and I’ve been giving tours since 2011. Being a guide is the perfect way to combine my love for history, archaeological sites and museums, Christianity, churches and monasteries and all that in my beloved Greece
