Walking Difficulty: Moderate: mostly flat surfaces and pathways; both museums are wheel chair accessible, but some uneven terraces and stairs at Knossos, where wheel chairs can access only half the site. The Heraklion Archaeological Museum is wheel chair accessible, but the streets of the city pose problems.

Heraklion, the capital and largest city of Crete, abounds with buildings, monuments, and churches that bear witness to its centuries-old history, among them the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, Morozini Fountain, The Venetian Loggia, Agios Minas, St. Titus Church, and the Historical Museum.
