This unique programme focuses on Cretan countryside south and west of Heraklion town, the changing scenery, the wine and olive oil production as well as the traditional way of producing cheese.

We will visit the next village, Kalesa, where the family oil press is located; we will discuss olives and extra virgin olive oil.

From here we will continue westbounds, to the historic village of Anogeia on the east slope of Idis mountain. Some locals still wear the traditional Cretan attire and offer their warm hospitality to their guests.

After the exquisite local lamb meal, we will continue the mountainous path to the heart of Idis to meet the shepherds, in their lodgings –mitata- and participate in producing cheese the traditional way.

Special Remarks
