A cultural tour in the historical roads of the old city which is at the same time the city of the present, the city of relaxation, the traditional delicacies of a lively city that will warmly welcome and make you feel at home.
“Koule”, The Venetian fortress , “Lotzia” one of the most elegant Venetian monuments, “St Marcus Basilica”, “Morozini Fountain” , “St Titus Church” as well as the colourful old market selling, hand woven crafts and Cretan herbs will charm and introduce you to the history and culture of this unique city.
There is a lovely surprise at the end of this tour just five kilometers away from Heraklion city centre in Karteros area (an ancient port of Knossos) where we will travel into 1.600 b.c. and the Minoan civilization at a beautiful open air theatre made of stones that come from the sacred mountain of Psiloritis. There, we will participate in the feast of Nature dedicated to Great Mother Earth.
We will be welcomed by Phaedra, daughter of King Minos, who will take us back to a ritual journey by celebrating the Goddess with dance and music and by witnessing the sacred marriage of Minotaur and Priestess, a symbol of the power that fertilizes and regenerates everything in nature.
Of course, there is no traditional wedding without good food. We will enjoy a delicious meal accompanied by music.
Anna, our hostess and creator of this lovely atmosphere, will prepare the meal cooked in wood fire and clay pots inspired by the Minoan culture and diet and combined with Cretan herbs and greens.
We will then return to our hotel feeling happy and blessed after such a long journey into the past and we will certainly become the best ambassadors for those who would also like to experience such a journey.
